SkyConnect USB Stick Home Assistant Adapter - ZigBee/Matter/Thread compatible

The Home Assistant SkyConnect USB Stick is an advanced physical adapter/dongle for radio communication, designed specifically for Home Assistant users. This versatile adapter is compatible with a range of protocols including ZigBee, Matter and Thread, allowing easy integration with a variety of smart home devices.

At the heart of the device is the chip EFR32 Series 2 from Silicon Labs (EZSP v8), which features a transmission power of +20 dBm. With support forUSB 2.0 full-speed, combined with the included USB extender, SkyConnect provides a stable and fast connection.

The key component is theSilicon Labs EFR32MG21 chip, which operates in IEEE 802.15.4 2.4 GHz, enabling the user to support ZigBee 3.0 (EmberZNet / EZSP) and Thread (OpenThread / Spinel inc. Matter / CHIP via Thread) at the same time, using firmware in RCP (Radio Co-Processor) mode.

With the OTW (Over-The-Wire) update feature, users can easily and seamlessly update the dongle's software, ensuring the latest features and security patches are always available. 

Home Assistant provides a dedicated add-on that enables communication with Ember Stacks for ZigBee and Matter, as well as offering software updates via USB via OTW (Over-The-Wire), ensuring that the device is always operating at the highest level of efficiency.

Serial communication is via the on-board USB - UART converter CP210x, ensuring smooth data flow.
