Image and Sound on the Raspberry Pi 4:
The Raspberry Pi 4 features two microHDMI ports, which allow simultaneous connection of two monitors with 4K video support.
Additionally, the minicomputer is equipped with a universal 4-pin 3.5mm jack socket, which allows connection of both headphones, speakers and video transfer via an RCA Composite connector.
The device supports advanced video compression formats H.265 (4Kp60), H.264 (1080p30) and offers support for OpenGL ES graphics versions 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0.
Operating system for Raspberry Pi 4:
This model of Raspberry Pi is not equipped with an eMMC module. A microSD memory card is used as the storage medium, which can be programmed using an external card reader. Supported systems are primarily: Raspbian, Openelec, RaspBMC, OSMC Linux and Windows 10 IoT.
Communications on the Raspberry Pi 4:
The Raspberry Pi 4 is equipped with standard communication ports, typical of office computers and laptops. The following connectors are available to users:
- 2 microHDMI connectors: Allow two monitors to be connected simultaneously, with each at up to 4K resolution.
- WiFi module: Dual-band, covering 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz 802.11b/g/n/ac, supported by the latest versions of Raspbian / NOOBs.
- Bluetooth 5 module: Enables data transmission over the popular interface, now in version 5.0.
- 2 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 connectors: For connecting peripheral devices such as mice, keyboards, WiFi cards, memory sticks or hard drives. Expandable with an external USB HUB.
- Ethernet socket: For wired internet connections with speeds of up to 1,000 Mbps.
- GPIO: 40 pins (2x20, raster 2.54 mm) for connecting e.g. switches, LEDs or sensors, with communication via I2C, SPI, UART.
