Description

WIFI ESP8266 Module + USB-C NodeMCU V3

Advanced Wi-Fi module based on the ESP8266 chip, ideal for IoT projects and home automation. It features a USB-C connector and USB-UART CH340 converter, enabling straightforward programming with environments such as Arduino IDE, PlatformIO or MicroPython. The module is fully compatible and works well in projects with Arduino, ESP32 and Raspberry Pi.

The board has soldered pins, an integrated PCB antenna, and supports wireless programming over Wi-Fi without having to connect to a computer every time. The module is new, unused and factory packaged.

Key technical specifications

  • Power supply: 5V - 12V
  • Logic voltage: 3.3V
  • Connector type: USB-C
  • USB converter: CH340
  • WiFi: 802.11 b/g/n with WPA / WPA2 security
  • Memory: 64 KB SRAM, 4 MB FLASH, 4 KB EEPROM
  • Clock speed: 80 - 160 MHz
  • Pinout: 11 I/O ports (including GPIO, 1-Wire, I2C) and 1 analog port (ADC)
  • Operating temperature: -55ºC to +125ºC
  • Pin pitch: 2.54 mm
  • Module dimensions: 49 mm x 26 mm

Benefits

  • Fast, convenient connection to a computer thanks to the modern USB-C connector.
  • Easy integration with popular Smart Home systems such as Home Assistant, Domoticz or Openhab.
  • Wide power supply range (5V - 12V), making it easier to choose a suitable power supply for your project.
  • Wireless firmware upload, which speeds up building and updating devices.
  • High performance thanks to clock speeds up to 160 MHz and large built-in FLASH (4 MB) memory.

Example applications

  • Temperature and humidity monitoring station with DS18B20 or BMP280 sensors, ThingSpeak platform and a 0.96" OLED display.
  • Sensor network node in ESP Home systems.
  • Integrating home devices with the HomeKit ecosystem (via Homebridge with open-source add-on software).
  • Educational cryptocurrency miner, e.g. the DuinoCoin project.
  • Wireless network security testing tools such as Deauther.

Most common issues on first startup

  1. No CH340 drivers installed in the operating system.
  2. Using a USB cable that is charge-only and has no data lines.
  3. Missing or incorrectly installed and configured ESP8266 libraries in Arduino IDE.
